Αλληλεγγύη στους Τ/κ συναγωνιστές και στον αγώνα τους για απαλλαγή από την τουρκική επικυριαρχία

Μια μεγάλη μερίδα εργαζομένων και συνδικαλιστών προέβηκε χθές Τρίτη 19 Ιουλίου 2011, σε πράξεις αντίστασης και διαμαρτυρίας ενάντια στην επίσκεψη του Τούρκου Πρωθυπουργού Ταγίπ Ερντογάν στην κατεχόμενη/βόρεια Κύπρο। Ασκήθηκε βία και καταστολή ενάντια στους διαδηλωτές, με αποτέλεσμα να τραυματιστούν και να συλληφθούν αρκετοί από αυτούς। Στις διαμαρτυρίες, καθοριστικό ρόλο είχαν οι τ/κ συντεχνίες εκπαιδευτικών KTÖS και KTOEÖS.

Ως Πλατφόρμα, εκφράζουμε την ολόψυχη αλληλεγγύη μας στον αγώνα των Τ/κ διαδηλωτών και καταδικάζουμε έντονα και απόλυτα τις πράξεις βίας εναντίον τους.

Είναι ξεκάθαρο ότι η προσπάθεια των Τ/κ να ξεφύγουν από την τουρκική επικυριαρχία συνεχίζεται και ότι σε αυτό τον αγώνα βασικό και θετικό ρόλο διαδραματίζουν οι δάσκαλοι και οι καθηγητές।Οι Ε/κ εκπαιδευτικοί και οι ηγεσίες των συντεχνιών τους θα πρέπει να παραδειγματιστούν και να συνεισφέρουν με τον δικό τους τρόπο, εντός και εκτός των εκπαιδευτικών ιδρυμάτων, στον αγώνα για επανένωση του τόπου.

Καλούμε σε συμπόρευση μαζί με τους Τ/κ διαδηλωτές στο δρόμο της λύσης και της αρμονικής συμβίωσης Τ/κ και Ε/κ, μακριά από το μίσος και τη διχόνοια।Στο δρόμο της απεξάρτησης του κυπριακού λαού από 'μητέρες πατρίδες', μακριά από εθνικιστικούς παροξυσμούς.

Solidarity to the T/c and their struggle against Turkish suzerainty

A large number of workers and trade unionists, yesterday Tuesday 19 July 2011, mobilized in action of resistance and protest against the visit of Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan in the occupied/north part of Cyprus. Violence and repression against the demonstrators resulted in injuries and arrests. In the protests, a decisive role was played by the T/c trade unions of teachers KTÖS and KTOEÖS.

We express our cordial solidarity in the fight of the T/c demonstrators and condemn emphatically and absolutely the acts of violence against them. It is evident that the efforts of the T/c to escape from Turkish suzerainty continues and that in this fight teachers play a fundamental and positive role. G/c teachers and the leaderships of their trade unions must take example and contribute in their own way, inside and outside the educational institutions, to the fight for reunification.

We call for alignment with the T/c demonstrators on the road towards a solution and harmonious cohabitation between T/c and G/c, away from hatred and dispute। On the road towards the detachment of the Cypriot people from 'mother countries', away from nationalistic paroxysms.

WE URGENTLY NEED YOUR SUPPORT AND YOUR SOLIDARITY!

Because of the 37th anniversary of Turkey’s military invasion on 20th July 1974, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited Cyprus.

In order to protest the Turkish Republic authorities’ policies of changing the demographic, social and cultural structure of the Turkish Cypriots, people gathered together in order to make a peaceful demonstration and faced with the terror of the police. Police forces entered KTAMS building by force with the excuse of search warrant and they confiscated the pancards which protested Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Resisting this, KTAMS Organization Secretary Mr. Devrim Barcin and BES General Secretary Mrs. Ayca Soygur Cirali were arrested.

Later on, the police fiercly attacked people who were waiting on the venue of the Prime Minister of Turkey, in order to make their demonstration.

Moreover, at the “boykott tent” of the Cyprus Turkish Airlines, people again, gathered to make their peaceful demonstrations and during their meeting, the police made another brutal attack on the demonstrators accusing another pancard. KTAMS President Mr. Ahmet Kaptan, KTOEOS General Secretary Mehmet Tasker, ELSEN Administrative Board member Hasan Guneser, as well as many other demonstrators were brutally beated. In addition, Salih Batak, Şevki Yoldaş, Nevzat Hami, Bülent Kurt, Mustafa Keleşzade and Ahmet Cenkler were arrested by the police. During the darkness of night, a pancard on the wall of the building of KTOS were taken away by the police.

This fierce and brutal attack of the police on 19th of July 2011 will be a “black day” in history। We protest these incidents and call upon to have solidarity and support in order for the Turkish Cypriots to continue their honorable struggle despite pressure and violence. We urgently need your support and solidarity.
