Δικοινοτικά Εργαστήρια Δημιουργικής Γραφής

Common actions in the fields of education and civilization in general are necessary in our effort for solution to the Cyprus problem and reunification of our island. Aiming at these goals, the G/C and T/C Teachers' Platform “United Cyprus” is organizing a series of workshops of 20-30 hours duration early in the coming autumn. The bi-communal workshops will provide the chance for new authors to spring, from those who share a vision for a common future in our island and are dedicated in promoting the ideals of peace and coexistence.

The final products of the workshops, will be novels/stories addressed to younger or older children, which will be published.

The workshops will take place in 4-5 consecutive weekend sessions at various places such as the Ledra Palace area, some apartment resorts by the sea, or at the mountain at both sides of Cyprus and will start most probably in September/October 2010.

The working languages of the workshops will be Greek and Turkish with Greek and Turkish well established and widely known experts who will be facilitating the sessions. Not only teachers, but anyone who is interested, may apply for participation.

The participation will be free of charge, and the participants names will appear on the final publications as authors. Copyrights will belong to the organization who will undertake the publication, as it is normally the case in these circumstances.

We believe that this project is important not only because of the opportunity for interaction between the participants, but mostly because the material that will be produced will be supported and promoted by the Platform and its friends to the highest level, so that to form a channel for bringing forth the ideas of reconciliation and reunification among the young people of our island.

More details to be announced soon.

If you are interested to participate in the workshops, please send an e-mail to: tokalemi@spidernet.com.cy by the 20th of June 2010 writing your
